Moving House Services Banstead
Cooks Removals has been moving people in and out of Banstead for over 65 years.
Banstead is a residential town in the borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey although it is often referred to as a village. It lies 2.5 miles south of Sutton, 5 miles west of Croydon and 7.5 miles south-east of Kingston-upon-Thames.
Banstead Downs is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) attracting visitors and ramblers alike to the beauty of the North Downs. It is non-commercial in most areas unlike its surrounding neighbours Redhill, Reigate, Sutton, Epsom and Leatherhead.
Given its village like status it has a small high street with a range of convenience shops, cafes, restaurants and bars as well as largely upmarket independent stores, estate agents and solicitors.
Employment opportunities are mainly in Retail along with a small number of public sector jobs in the local authority offices, NHS and schools. However, in the main its residents commute to work.
There are a number of state and independent schools to choose from. Primary schools are St Annes Catholic Primary School (for ages 4 to 11), Banstead Infants School that feeds Banstead Juniors School and Warren Mead Primary School. The Beacon School is the predominant secondary comprehensive school in the area and is one of the 23 schools that supply ball boys to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. The school sends many of its students to the 5 grammar schools in neighbouring Sutton.
There are 3 independent schools in Banstead, Aberdour School (co-educational preparatory school for ages 3 to 13), Priory Preparatory School (independent day school for boys aged 2 to 13) and Greenacre School for Girls (independent school for girls aged from 3 to 18).
